Preface
The stimulation through acupuncture and moxabustion on meridians is known to have some effect in treating illnesses. Actually to a certain degree is it effective however up to now the mechanisms underlying meridians have yet to be clearly understood and the effectiveness of acupuncture and moxabustion treatment has yet to be fully explained in western medical terms. During acupuncture treatment endorphin, which has stronger pain relief effect than morphine, is secreted. But further conclusive research has yet to be undertaken. Therefore the endorphin theory could possibly also be untrue. Endorphin is secreted when one feels a high sense of joy and delight from the pituitary glands. It is questionable whether people feel these emotions when receiving acupuncture treatment that is painful and dangerous. It is confirmed that small physical changes occur during acupuncture treatment, however, it is not clear whether that change is useful for the human body or not and the western medical mechanism underlying that change is not clear.

During the 19th Korea-Japan Seo Geum Therapy Symposium the comparative studies between Seo Geum medicine and Oriental Medicine revealed that stimulation of acupuncture and moxabustion on the body meridians is toxic. During stimulation of acupuncture and moxabustion on the body meridians dopamine is secreted from the hypothalamus and the tip of the parasympathetic nerve and adrenalin is over secreted from the tip of the sympathetic nerve and adrenal medulla. As a result of this disorder occurs in cerebral blood circulation. The hormone stimulating the pituitary gland also is affected and becomes imbalanced. That imbalance restricts hormone excretion of endocrine system. Finally blood circulation disorder occurs. When experiments through yin yang pulse taking on the stimulation of acupuncture and moxabustion on the body meridians were conducted all pulses had deteriorated, except incurable pulses.

Deteriorating yin yang pulses mean blood circulation deteriorates, tension or overexcitement of sympathetic nerve and hypo parasympathetic deterioration. During one year in 2008 through lots of research and experiments grasped the true reason how acupuncture and moxabustion stimulation is toxic. The toxicity was published serially in the Bokun Newspaper.

1. Judgment of meridians.
It is believed that meridians are existing but there is not explanation and examination of their substance and function therefore they cannot be proved. When stimulation of acupuncture and moxabustion on the body meridians people believe that it will help the illness however it deteriorates yin yang pulses.

2. A Study on Noxious Matter of the Acupuncture Material
An injector is for medical injection, a surgical knife is for surgery. What is the use of acupuncture needles? A study is needed to investigate whether acupuncture needles are a necessary substance for use on the human body.

1) Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxabustion (öÜ϶ÓÞà÷, Yang Ji Zhou<åÀÍ©ñ½>, Ming<Ù¥>, 1601) first time mentioned about the toxicity of iron(ôÑÔ¸) when talking about how to make acupuncture needles. There was no further explanation about this toxicity, however it was recorded here. The summary was that iron from horses shoes and small spears contained no toxicity therefore it can be made into acupuncture needles. But yuchul (êõôÑ) and sukchol (âÙôÑ) contain toxins. There are gold acupuncture needles, here this means a noble metal and includes bronze and silver. It is acceptable to reuse these needles. Presently toxins that are found in iron used for horse's shoes are neutralized but are still not used for acupuncture needles.

2) All acupuncture needles that are presently used are stainless steel and plastic. Needles from all over the world are using these materials. An investigation was carried out investigating what kinds of substances are found in stainless steel. According to the results of a stainless steel making company and reports from an international metal inspection agency stainless steel contains certain poisonous heavy metal. (These test results were from K firm and test reports from SGS-International Metal Inspection Agent).

3) Stainless steel is a metal made of a mixture of iron, chrome, nickel, manganese, phosphorus, silicone and carbon. Stainless steel contains a large quantity of iron, nickel and chrome and a minute quantity of manganese and phosphorous. Chrome and nickel are widely used for plating. In many cases they cause skin allergies and flare up. When eating this metal it is immediately excreted or neutralized with other foods. But when used in making an acupuncture needle and penetrate the skin it can lead to serious damage to sensory nerves, autonomic nerves (especially parasympathetic nerves), hormones, blood circulation and immune system. Therefore plating with chrome or nickel is now prohibited for bracelets and accessories and this now extends to medical devices. The main point of this study is about what will happen when acupuncture needles made of toxic metal is inserted into the skin. When this kind of metal is inserted into a meridian or body the body experienced a huge impact and tries to reject it and it causes deterioration in YinYang pulse.

4) Stainless steel also contains extremely minute quantity of white refined wax, cadmium, mercury and 6ga chrome. According to the report from an international metal inspection agency white refined wax, cadmium, mercury and 6ga chrome was not detected above a fixed minor amount. Possibly extremely minute quantity of heavy metal is in stainless steel. When stainless steel is made a minute quantity of white refined wax is needed to make the metal longer in length. Possibly in normal acupuncture needle there contains a minute quantity of white refined wax, cadmium, mercury and 6ga chrome component.

5) Acupuncture treatment has serious and minor side effects, possibly because of white refined wax and mercury. Because acupuncture material contains various toxic metals side effects of acupuncture frequently occur. Acupuncture shock is the side effect of poisonous metal especially symptoms of white refined wax addition is similar. In wax addition as a stomach symptom stomach aches and cramps, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea and lack of appetite as an effect to blood, anemia and red blood cell halophilic spot, as a symptom in nervous system, central nervous system disorders such as loss of memory, instability, insomnia, headaches, vomiting, cranial nerve paralysis, memory disorder, hallucinations and convulsions, peripheral nerve disorders such as motor disturbance and paralysis especially in the wrist are common in adults. It is also a symptom as renal failure, frequent occurring joint pain, liver disorder, urination problems and miscarriage. The shock and side effects of acupuncture treatment frequently happen to the weak, but less to the healthy. However, in a real clinical setting it is unpredictable. Sometimes the weak can have acupuncture treatment regularly without any side effects, but a strong person may suffer side effects possibly from toxic heavy metal. Motor disturbance, pneumothorax, faint, nutritive vessel paralysis (one leg is thin or paralysed), body paralysis and worst case death.

6) Frequent acupuncture stimulation or technique of tonification and reduction exposes the patient to heavy metal more. When acupuncture needles made of heavy metal are inserted into the body or meridian the very moment they cause deterioration in yin yang pulse taking. Longer, thicker acupuncture needles made of heavy metal used frequently expose the patient more toxins. Frequent long term treatment weakens original energy and immune system. Worldwide the side effects of acupuncture are rising.

7) Electric acupuncture and moxa attached to the tip of acupuncture needles exposes patients to toxic heavy metal. Sometimes when flowing electric current through the needles they can corrode. When burning moxa it can expose the patient to toxic heavy metals. There are many shocks and adverse effects to electric acupuncture due to exposure to toxic heavy metal.

8) Acupuncture made of toxic heavy metal causes deterioration in yin yang pulses. Plastic contains environmental hormones which is worse than metal. Experiments have been undertaken using needles made in Korea, Japan and China and all were found to deteriorate yin yang pulses. Using thicker needles, higher number of needles inserted and tonification and reducing method were the worse to cause deterioration. Recently plastic acupuncture needles were developed and are being used in practice. Plastic contains environmental hormones which cause deterioration in yin yang pulses and if it is accumulated in the body its advanced effects will be very serious. According to investigations, acupuncture needles with silicone coated tips are being used this is COTSIL R-8100N.This is made up of 85% polydimethylsiloxcine. This could cause minor stimulation in dermal contact. What kind of effects can be expected when inserting such noxious stimulating substances into the body?

9) When acupuncture needles are inserted into body acupuncture points and meridians it deteriorates yin yang pulses. It is a wrong thing to expect effect from acupuncture needles made of heavy metal. But blood letting is needed with use of a needle. Mechanisms underlying meridians cannot be explained in any way.

10) The effectiveness of acupuncture, emergency treatment and the effect in the mind through dopamine- actually deteriorated. Up to now there are various hypothesis and theories that claimed acupuncture has effectiveness. But a certain definite western medical mechanism was not explained, but just explained a minor effect in a clinical setting. In modern western medical view the stimulation of acupuncture is the secretion of dopamine. Dopamine is secreted from the tip of sympathetic nerve to make a patient temporarily feel a bit better and stimulate the body nerves. But continuously makes the sympathetic nerves tense (lowers parasympathetic nerve). This causes tension mentally. Dopamine is a trigger substance for adrenalin. When adrenalin is secreted a patient feels better and possibly some pain relief effect. People think this is the effect of acupuncture but it is just placebo. If pulse rate, yin yang pulse and blood circulation are checked they have all deteriorated. Temporarily there is an effect in mind through placebo, but in fact there is a deterioration. In emergency illnesses blood letting and strong stimulation expanded the capillary blood vessels, these soon constrict. Mechanism underlying acupuncture is excretion of dopamine and adrenalin in the body which actually deteriorate symptoms.

11) Body meridians and acupuncture points- oversensitive parasympathetic nerve distribution area, especially ear acupuncture in the front and rear auditory canal. Toxin heavy metal lowers parasympathetic nerve and makes sympathetic nerve tense. Anatomically around the auditory canal and rear of it there are a lot of vagus nerves distributed. As a result of experiments through yin yang pulse taking during auricular acupuncture around the front and rear auditory canal and body meridians it was confirmed that there was a oversensitive parasympathetic nerve distribution area. Acupuncture needles made of toxic heavy metal stimulates and damages parasympathetic nerves. As a result sympathetic nerve will become tense and overexcited. It causes constriction of capillary vessels, coldness in hands and feet, increase in blood pressure and pulse rate and heart pressure. Therefore there are many shocks and side effects in ear acupuncture and body acupuncture.

12) Koryo Hand Acupuncture meridians and corresponding areas are oversensitive sympathetic nerve areas. But body acupuncture meridians on the hand are still oversensitive parasympathetic nerve distribution areas. It is definite that Koryo Hand Acupuncture corresponding areas, 14 micromeridians and important point areas oversensitive sympathetic nerve areas. When acupuncture needles made of toxic heavy metal were stimulated in 14 micromeridians and corresponding areas they lower or restrict sympathetic nerve. That modulate autonomic nerve and controlling yin yang pulses.

13) 70-90% of human illnesses are as a result of overexcitement of the sympathetic nerve system. Around 10-30% is hyper parasympathetic nerve system. It is dangerous to stimulate the body with acupuncture. The majority of human illness is as a result of overexcitement or tension of the sympathetic nerve system. Acupuncture stimulation according to Koryo Hand Therapy theories is that it lowers and control sympathetic nerve with excellent effects. Acupuncture and moxa stimulation according to body meridians has an effect to lower parasympathetic nerve but it still deteriorates yin yang pulses. That means even in the illness of hyper-parasympathetic nerve deterioration is greater than the effect. There has never been even a single case where acupuncture and moxa on body meridians has not deteriorated yin yang pulses.

14) Acupuncture and moxa stimulation on body meridians is not for patient treatment. Up to now acupuncture and moxa treatment has been regarded as a good method to treat illness. But in fact it is the opposite. On the basis of this fact present acupuncture and moxa treatment should be strictly prohibited. New treatment methods need to be developed.

15) Meridian system was confirmed to be rejecting reaction system to acupuncture and moxabustion. Up to now acupuncture and moxabustion treatment has always carried on the area where it is harmful to the human body. The substance of meridians was not revealed clearly but the function of meridians to some degree was understood. New stimulation technique was researched and developed. Using this system and stimulating the meridian an astonishing fact was discovered. Extensively meridians were reorganized and complemented and called the Golden Meridian. With this new Golden Meridian and use of special therapeutic instruments good results have occurred in yin yang pulses. 14 Golden Meridian Chart was introduced in the New Koryo Hand Acupuncture in 2008 Oct and Golden Meridian Therapy lectures were published in 2009 June. In the January 2009 issue of the Japanese magazine The Medicinal Way of Japan the new Golden Meridian instruments were introduced.

16) Chinese people's discovery of meridians was great. Acupuncture and moxa practice is a big mistake. We stand at the crossroads in reexamining the stimulation of acupuncture and moxabustion on the body meridians. It is hoped that further studies are undertaken on this issue.
